Ardonagh Europe, part of The Ardonagh Group, today announced the launch of Orvia Underwriting (Orvia), a new pan‑European Managing General Agent (MGA). Drawing on Ardonagh’s strong distribution network, specialist talent and trusted insurer partnerships, Orvia marks an important step in the Group’s ambition to build a leading European underwriting business.
Headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, Orvia creates a single platform to combine a number of Ardonagh-owned MGAs across the London and European markets with a combined portfolio in excess of €250m GWP. Orvia aims to harness the strength of existing underwriting and distribution capabilities within Ardonagh, creating centres of excellence for product and specialisms across Europe.
The new brand takes inspiration from the Celtic Ór (gold) and Latin Via (path), symbolising a clear and assured way to connect clients, brokers and capacity partners through the distribution chain.
The well-established trade credit and cyber specialist business of Cooper Gay Germany becomes the first of Ardonagh’s existing MGAs to transition to the new brand, with other businesses in the London and other European markets set to join the platform in 2026.
Orvia will focus on developing specialist insurance products that meet the needs of clients and brokers, offering faster decisions, trusted service and seamless access to underwriting expertise across the London and European markets. The business is also finalising a panel of long‑term capacity partnerships to ensure continuity, while at the same time supporting new product creation and sustainable growth.
Conor Brennan, CEO, Ardonagh Europe, said: “Orvia brings together the best of our distribution insight, underwriting expertise and strong insurer partnerships. With market dynamics supporting MGA models, we have a unique opportunity to shape a brighter, more connected future for underwriting across Europe.”
Conor Geraghty, CEO*, Orvia Underwriting, said: “Orvia is built on a simple belief: great underwriting happens when talented people, strong capacity partnerships and meaningful investment come together. With Orvia, we are creating a modern, scalable MGA business that puts service and partnership at its core.”
“By combining a number of our existing MGAs, we create broader capabilities and unlock new growth potential. We see huge opportunity in the markets in which we operate and are equally excited about entering new markets and segments as we scale the business.”
* The appointment is subject to customary regulatory approvals.
