The Ardonagh Group announces appointment of Iain Laws
07 December 2017
The Ardonagh Group (“the Group”) today announces the appointment of Iain Laws as CEO Healthcare.
Iain, who will join the Group in January 2018, will lead Healthcare, bringing together Towergate Health and Chase Templeton and will report into Rob Worrell, CEO Insurance Broking.
Iain has spent the past 5 years of his career at Jelf where most recently he was Managing Director of Healthcare and Group Risk.
In a move previously agreed during the Group’s acquisition of Chase Templeton, CEO Warren Dickson will work with Iain over a period of months into the New Year before leaving the business.
Commenting on this news today, Deputy CEO of The Ardonagh Group Janice Deakin said:
“When we started to think about bringing together Chase Templeton and Towergate Health, we envisaged the creation of the largest independent health broker in the UK. The combined businesses working in partnership with our Advisory branch network have significant cross sell opportunities, leveraging impressive track records and significant scale across the Group.
As CEO of Chase Templeton, Warren has played a crucial role in enabling a transition into the Ardonagh family. In our earliest conversations, Warren was very honest with me about his plans to move onto a new challenge once he had embedded the business and overseen the initial integration of his team. We are hugely grateful to him for his support during this time and also of the commitment he has made to spend the next few months working alongside Iain to create a new structure.”
In this new role, Iain will report to Rob Worrell as we look to drive even greater collaboration across the GI Broking and Health businesses.
Also commenting today, CEO of Chase Templeton, Warren Dickson said:
“Having spent five years at the helm of Chase Templeton, I have overseen some incredible turning points in the timeline of the business, including the completion of over 80 acquisitions, growing income by more than six times and leading the business into The Ardonagh Group. I am incredibly proud of what the team there have achieved and now genuinely excited by the opportunity ahead of them in this next evolution of the business.
I always believed that the right home for Chase Templeton would be alongside a large general insurance broker given the obvious access to clients and relationships. Over the coming months, I will work with Iain to ensure we are best positioned to deliver on a growth strategy of which I am hugely supportive. I’d like to thank Janice and the team in distribution for welcoming us into the fold; for embracing our ambitions and supporting our vision.”
Iain Laws added:
“There is clearly a fantastic and unique opportunity within Ardonagh, to build on the excellent work that has been done by two leading healthcare brands and to use this as a springboard from which to create a formidable force in this market. Warren’s support will be invaluable to me as I navigate the Group in those early days and I am extremely grateful for his guidance. I am delighted to be a part of The Ardonagh Group, which is the talk of the town for all the right reasons, and can’t wait to get stuck in to the challenge.”
